In this carpentry and joinery program, students develop skills and knowledge in many aspects of the carpentry trade.
Carpentry is a skilled trade and a craft in which the primary work performed is the cutting, shaping, and installation of building materials during the construction of buildings, ships, timber bridges, concrete formwork and many more.
Carpenters traditionally worked with natural wood and did the rougher work such as framing, but today many other materials are also used and sometimes the finer trades of cabinetmaking and furniture building are considered carpentry.

Entry Requirements
The Minimum Entry Requirements are:
- KCPE Certificate, or;
- Equivalent qualification approved by KNEC.
The duration for the course is 2 years which includes a compulsory industrial attachment.

This carpentry and joinery certificate program promotes the trade of carpentry through technical instruction and practical “hands-on” experience for the necessary skill development for employment in the field of construction.
