St. Dominic’s TATI - History

The existence of St. Dominic?s TATI was compounded by the concerns shared by Senior Sr. Luise Radlmeier on the fact that youth unemployment, substance abuse and delinquency behaviour were on the rise within the locality of Juja-Kenya. This scenario caused the Rotarians PDG Helmut Mader (RC Roth) and PP Thomas Wirkner (RC Weissenburg) to support the idea of having a skills center, hence founded TATI with the Dominican Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus- Kenya in 2009.

The land was bought by the Germany Dentist Association (facilitated by Dr. Claus Winter and Dr. Paul Festl) and accomplished through The Rotarians PDG Helmut Mader (RC Roth) and PP Thomas Wirkner (RC Weissenburg) who planned and built TATI by mobilising funds through Rotary International and with charities in Germany. In the beginning they visited TATI twice a year. All through to 2013, they ensured the institution fits the vision and mission the founders had. Ground-breaking Celebration was done in 2013 where the institute was blessed and commenced its operations.

Up to date, Rotarians PDG Helmut Mader (RC Roth) and PP Thomas Wirkner (RC Weissenburg) continue supporting the institute in different projects to help the institute run smoothly, ?Turning Dreams into Realities?.
