Analytical chemistry is the science of measurement and identification of the chemical compounds that underlie most aspects of modern life and plays a central part within the chemical industry. It also involves the processing and communication of information about the composition and structure of matter.
To qualify for admission, the trainee must have passed with a Mean Grade of C-(minus) and above in KCSE and they must have passed in Chemistry, Biology/Physics, Mathematics and English.

Objectives of Analytical Chemistry
This Analytical Chemistry programme aims at equipping the trainees with skills, knowledge, and attitudes to be highly competitive in the relevant industries and for further academic progression.
At the end of the course the graduate will:
- Have gained the specialist analytical skills, techniques and methodologies
- Have gained hands-on experience of the major analytical techniques on analyzing samples from a wide range of sources
- Carry out projects that will avail the opportunity to carry out in-depth studies developing new methods and assays.
- Have gained a broad solid foundation in Chemistry.
