Machakos Institute of Technology (MIT) is a Community-focused, development-oriented, technical training Institution, without any Governmental, Religious or political affiliation.

From the time of inception, the institution has distinguished itself as a Centre of academic excellence; attracting accreditation from reputable local and international examining bodies, as well as drawing students from allover Kenya, this being a major signification of the confidence which foreigners and Kenyans have on the institution?s ability to deliver in the field of academia.

After along period of solemn service and total dedication from MIT staff, students, sponsors, parents, and other stakeholders in education, MIT has stood the test of time and has emerged as one of the best tertiary colleges registered under the Ministry Of Higher Education Science And Technology offering exams from different examining bodies.

Machakos Institute of Technology is committed in providing quality and affordable training geared towards equipping every trainee with unmatched competence in their areas of specialization.  The institution is set to making training a rewarding and enjoyable experience that will bring about positive change in attitudes of trainee to enable them build bridges to career and business success. In order to make this a reality. MIT employs very experienced, competent, and dedicated teaching and non-teaching staff from different regions within the country, who passionately serve in various capacities within the system.

We have a students organization under the leadership of the students leader working together with the Dean Of Students to take care of the social aspect of the students.

Students are able to interact in both co curricula and extra-curricula activities like in games, community service, YCS, CU, Choir.

MIT has two well equipped Computer Laboratories fitted with modern computers and fully connected with internet to facilitate learning and research for all our students. We also have a well equipped library with modern and relevant books for different disciplines.
