Kenya Institute of Applied Sciences(KIAS) was incepted in July 2002 to offer a wide range of applied sciences courses.
Kenya Institute of Applied Sciences offers all its programmes on a full-time basis. However, the provision will be made for those students willing to study on part-time basis although this will be left to the discretion of the Academic board.
An academic year at the Kenya Institute of Applied Sciences will comprise of three terms. All students are called upon to attend three quarters of the total contact hours allocated for each course unit.
Class Capacity
To ensure quality training, we prefer twenty students per class per lecturer in each course unit. Applicants are therefore advised to apply for the course of which they meet all the minimum requirements for admission as soon as possible. Any delay in registration may lead to loss of vacancy.
Student Discipline
Kenya Institute of Applied Sciences will not tolerate any case of indiscipline. Persistent cases of indiscipline may lead to expulsion. No certificates or refund of the fees will be given upon expulsion of any student, and that such student will not be re admitted whatsoever.
Accommodation
Kenya Institute of Applied Sciences offers accommodation to willing students at affordable rates. The accommodation fees are charged separately from the total amount payable as fees. Those willing to stay in the institute?s hostels are advised to pay the accommodation fees on the first day of registration.
Student Leadership
Students at the Kenya Institute of Applied Sciences will be allowed to elect their leaders in an atmosphere of openness and freewill. Any student meetings must be authorised by the dean of students. Holding illegal meetings may lead to expulsion. The Institution will not tolerate student Union whatsoever.
