Kabarak University is a private Chartered institution of higher learning that provides holistic Christian-based quality education, training, research, and outreach activities for the service of God and humanity.

The University was established in the year 2000 by the 2nd President of Kenya, H.E. the Late Hon. Daniel T. Arap Moi, who was also the founding Chancellor. This was as a result of his visionary idea of setting up a Christian University that would meet the demand for higher education in Kenya and offer quality education based on strong moral principles.

The Institution was granted a Letter of Interim in October 2000 and later opened doors for its first batch of students in 2002.

On 16th May 2008 the University was awarded the Charter by the Third President of the Republic of Kenya, His Excellency Mwai Kibaki, making it a fully-fledged accredited University.

Main Campus

The Main Campus is located 20 km north of Nakuru town, along the Nakuru-Eldama Ravine highway, It stands on a 600-acre piece of land in a serene, spacious & beautiful environment with state-of-the-art facilities for residential, catering, laboratories, outdoor swimming pool ideal for physical, social, spiritual and intellectual development.

Nakuru Campus

The Nakuru Campus is located west of the Nakuru ASK Show along prison. The Campus has modern facilities which are ideal for day-scholars, part-time and evening students seeking academic and professional training during the evening and weekends.

Kabarak University - History

Kabarak University was established by the second President of Kenya, H.E. Daniel Toroitich Arap Moi in 2000, this resulted from his visionary idea of setting up a Christian University that would meet the demand for higher education in Kenya and offer quality education based on strong moral principles.

2002: The first student was admitted

May 2008: University Accreditation: On 16 May 2008 the university was awarded the Charter by the Third President of the Republic of Kenya, His Excellency Mwai Kibaki, making it a fully-fledged accredited university.

2010: Launch of the School of Law

November 2014: Kabarak Online Launch (KABUO): Kabarak Univesity Online was officially opened by the Second President of Kenya the late Daniel T. Arap Moi, who was also the founding Chancellor. Kabarak University Online offers online training for organizations and individuals in Africa. Its beneficiaries are either working professionals or continuing students

October 2016: Launch of School of Medicine and Health Sciences

June 2017: Launch of School of Pharmacy

December 2017: ISO 9001:2015 Certification: Kabarak University certified by KEBs as ISO compliant.

December 2017: Launch of New look website

July 2018: Installation of Hon Senator Dr. Gideon Kipsielei Towett Moi as Pro-Chancellor

July 2018: Inauguration of Prof. Henry Kiptiony Kiplangat as 5th Vice-Chancellor

September 2018: Kabarak University awarded the full license by Kenya Nutritionist and Dietician Institute (KNDI)

February 2020: Groundbreaking of the New Nakuru Town Campus Library

July 2020: Installation of Hon. Senator Dr. Gideon K T Moi as 2nd Chancellor of Kabarak University
