Waithaka Technical Training Centre in Nairobi, is a training centre that provides Technical Vocational Training to the Youth in Kenya.
Waithaka Technical Training Centre empowers youth through the provision of accessible, appropriate and quality training in technical, vocational, industrial, entrepreneurship and life skills. This enables the youth to have the necessary skills to be self-reliant and to steer the country towards the goals of Vision 2030.
Waithaka Vocational Training Center - History
Waithaka Technical Training Centre opened in 1959 as Dagoretti Youth Club.
It transformed to Waithaka Youth Club in 1974 and officially registered by the Ministry of Culture and Social Services in 1978.
Waithaka Technical Training Centre is an institute in the Welfare & Recreation section under Social Services & Housing Department of the City Council of Nairobi.
Waithaka Technical Training Centre is run by a Management Committee under the chairmanship of The Assistance Director Social Services & Housing. Other members comprise of 7 members of the City Council of Nairobi, 5 Community members and 2 members of from DYO & MOYAS.
