Mathematics is a critical ingredient for the development of social and scientific disciplines to solve real-life problems. With advances in technology, the nature of research and business is becoming increasingly more complex and quantitative.
In this degree course, mathematical content is combined with principles of computer science, computation, systems design, and software engineering to give a computer-aided approach to mathematics. This approach is necessary for the current society where information technology is permeating every facet of society for efficient and effective delivery of superior business and scientific solutions.
You will gain not only knowledge and practical experience of the latest technologies, but also a grounding in the underlying principles of the subject. It is this combination of skills that enables our graduates to keep pace with this fast-moving subject and secure top jobs in industry and research.

Objectives of Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Computer Science
This Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Computer Science program aims to produce graduates that are equipped with the necessary mathematical tools for analyzing, modeling and solving physical, economical, and real-life problems in their complexity. Computer Science units are carefully selected not only to provide an introduction to the most theoretical aspects of computer science but also to raise the students? capability in analyzing algorithms, software construction, and mathematical computation.
What you will study
The topics studied include a number of important ideas of mathematics, including the concepts of rigorous argument, formal proof and the power of abstract formulation of problems. This is combined with the core computer science topics of programming and software engineering, together with the study of mathematical principals underpinning the foundations of computing.
