Carpentry is a skilled trade and a craft in which the primary work performed is the cutting, shaping, and making things from wood, or repairing things that are made of wood.
Carpenters traditionally worked with natural wood and did the rougher work such as framing, but today many other materials are also used and sometimes the finer trades of cabinetmaking and furniture building are considered carpentry.
In this carpentry and joinery program, you develop skills and knowledge in many aspects of the carpentry trade. This includes constructing and installing wood products. You gain an understanding of construction safety and industry practices.
