Kenya Power Institute of Energy Studies & Research, established as KPLC Training School in 1957, is an innovation, research, and technology-centered training institute that provides high-quality training for KPLC in-service staff, corporates, and the general public with over 1,000 students registered for Diploma and Certificate courses.
Our diploma and certificate courses are examined by Kenya National Examinations Council(KNEC) and we are accredited by the National Industrial Training Authority(NITA).
The Institute is a leader in Energy Training and has vast facilities that are useful for Industrial Based Training, attachment, research, and innovation. In view of this JKUAT proposes to leverage on the strength of IESR and offer Electrical Engineering degree and postgraduate programs at the Institute.
IESR is registered as a Technical Industrial and Vocational Education Institution in Kenya under the TVET Act 2013 and also an Industrial Training Institution under the Industrial Training Act Cap 237 of 2011.
