The Alliance Française is the only accredited institution in Kenya for international and professional French language certification. It is also the only officially recognized institution in Kenya for certified translations.
The institution offers a rich program of annual activities showcasing local and international Arts and encouraging creativity. The Alliance Française is located in the ‘uptown’ edge of the central business district, in the proximity of the University of Nairobi main campus as well as Nairobi CBD campuses of other leading universities. With easy access to public transport, the Alliance Française is one of the busiest cultural centers in Nairobi and remains a popular venue with the discerning public.
Each year, the Alliance Française hosts an average of 180 public events and welcomes over 80 000 people through its doors, in addition to the student population. It is arguably a cultural landmark in the Kenyan capital.

Alliance Francaise - History
The Alliance Francaise is a language and cultural relations organization. It was created in 1883 in Paris by renowned humanists, including Louis Pasteur and Jules Verne, with the principal objective of promoting and teaching the French language around the world.
Since then, it has developed into a global network of the Alliance Française institutions operating in 135 countries around the world, with the common aim of fostering friendship between peoples, through the promotion of the French language and cultural diversity.
The Alliance Française de Nairobi was founded in 1949. It has grown into one of the largest in Africa offering French language courses to thousands of students annually.
