The objective of the University of Nairobi in offering these course is to enable the personnel to:
1. Collect and evaluate data on livestock diseases at the district, provincial and national levels.
2. Advise on present and future disease control policy,
3. Evaluate the effectiveness of animal health programmes.
4. Conduct on-farm research.
Admission to the University of Nairobi for a Masters in veterinary epidemiology and Economics will be open to:-
a) Holders of the degree of Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Nairobi.
b) Other candidates who have obtained degrees from other universities approved by Senate as being equivalent to Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine of the University of Nairobi.
