About MASTER OF SCIENCE IN ENTOMOLOGY Masters program.

In response to public and private sectors needs for trained personnel with specialization in particular fields of Entomology, the Department of Zoology of the University of Nairobi decided to restructure its MSc. programme and group the course units into suitable areas of specialization, hence the master of science in entomology.

Objectives of MASTER OF SCIENCE IN ENTOMOLOGY

The objectives of this programme therefore are to:


1. Provide entomology postgraduates who intend to practice in the related services in the tropics with training in research methods relevant to the consumer expectations and to the national socio-economic needs.


2. Produce scientists in entomology who are capable of providing solutions to problems relating to vectors and pests in related industries and other user organizations.


3. Produce scientists with specialized and specific skills able to adapt relevant and available technologies as well as appropriate technologies to solve current challenging problems of development.

Entry requirements for MASTER OF SCIENCE IN ENTOMOLOGY

The following shall be eligible for admission to the University of Nairobi for the above programme


1.      Holder of an Upper Second Class Honours degree in Zoology or equivalent qualification from a University recognized by Senate with at least one unit in Entomology.


2.      Holder of a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture.


3.      Holder of a Bachelor of Science Lower Second Honours degree in Zoology or equivalent and with at least three years work experience in Zoology.
