About MASTER OF ARTS DEGREE IN POPULATION STUDIES Masters program.

The Master of Arts Programme in Population Studies is intended to prepare demographers, and social scientists for careers in Government Services, academic and private sector. Students will be exposed to a broad inter-disciplinary perspective of the complexity of causes of population change at the individual, family, community, national and international level. Particular attention will be given to mastering of skills necessary for conducting high quality population research aimed at furthering the national development goals.

Entry requirements for MASTER OF ARTS DEGREE IN POPULATION STUDIES

 The following shall be eligible for admission to the University of Nairobi for the above course:


1.      Holders of a Bachelor’s degree of the University of Nairobi with at least an upper Second Class Honours, or other candidates with equivalent qualifications recognized by senate.


2.      Holders of Lower Second Class honour degrees or equivalent and a diploma in population studies or at least 2 years work experience in population related field.


3.      Holders of a pass degree and a post-graduate diploma in population studies with at least three years of work experience in a population related field.


4.      Holders of a pass degree with a distinction pass in post-graduate certificate in population and at least five years of work experience in population related field.
