About MASTER OF ARTS Masters program.

The MA programme in the Department of Literature aims at deepening students’ insights into literary art and the theoretical postulates that have evolved with the art. In this way, the programme seeks to promote sensitive and intelligent responses to human experiences and aspirations created through imagination and language, as it opens doors to rich, rewarding literary experiences that capture a diversity of literary genres, regional literatures, and modes of literary transmission. In the process, the programme is intent on turning out literary scholars, teachers of literature, and writers of different shades.

Entry requirements for MASTER OF ARTS

The minimum qualifications a candidate needs for entry to the University of Nairobi for the above programme are:


1.      Bachelor’s degree in Literature or a relevant field of the University of Nairobi with at least a Lower Second Class or equivalent qualifications from institutions the University of Nairobi Senate recognize.


2.      Bachelor’s (Pass) degree plus a postgraduate diploma in a relevant field.
