About BSc Agricultural Education and Extension Bachelors Degree program.

Graduands witha BSc in agricultural education and exension degree from Kenyatta University are equipped with knowledge and multi-disciplinary research skills necessary for devising innovative and practical solutions to multiple and complex challenges in educating and training individuals who are in the agricultural sphere, either through formal education programmes or extension services.

Objectives of BSc Agricultural Education and Extension

The main objectives of the programme is to train and equip students with knowledge and skills to enable them identify, address, evaluate and advise confidently on the contemporary issues and challenges affecting agricultural development. In this regard, we intend to produce broad and focused cadre of competent and dependable managers in animal resource, land, water and soil fertility; trainers in secondary, university and other institutions of higher learning.

Entry requirements for BSc Agricultural Education and Extension

In addition to meeting the University entrance requirements of overall C+ at KCSE or equivalent, candidates for admission to the B.Sc. (Agriculture Resource Management) programme at Kenyatta University are required to have obtained a minimum of C+ in any three of the following subjects:

  • Biology, Chemistry, Agriculture or
  • Geography, Mathematics or
  • Physics or Physical Sciences

as specified by Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Services (KUCCPS). 

Candidates with ‘A’ level certificate with at least one principal in requisite subjects in criteria number (i) above or candidates with International Baccalaureate certification.

Grade C in KCSE or its equivalent and a Diploma with a minimum of credit in a subject related to Agriculture, Environmental Studies, Applied Biology, Agribusiness or any other related discipline from a recognized Institution.

Mean grade of C- at KCSE and progressed from certificate to Diploma at Kenyatta University or any other recognized/accredited Institutions.
