Entry requirements for Bachelor of the Built Environment (Urban Design and Development)

Candidates shall be eligible for admission into the BACHELOR OF BUILT ENVIRONMENT IN URBAN DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT (BBEnv.UDD) degree in the School of Architecture and Built Environment with the following qualifications:

KCSE Candidates

The basic admissions requirement shall be the minimum entry requirements set for entry into the public universities, which is at least an average grade of C+ in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE).In addition, candidates must have attained the required minimum grades of C+ at the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) in the cluster subjects :-

  • 2nd Group II/ any Group III/ any Group IV/ any Group V

A-Levels or Equivalent

Candidates should have a minimum of two (2) principal passes in Mathematics and Physics and a subsidiary level pass in Chemistry with a credit pass in English at O-Level.

Diploma in Technology Spatial Design and Planning (Dip. Tech SDP) holders from KPTU or any other recognized and equivalent institution.
ANY other EQUIVALENT Qualification subject to the acceptance by the KPTU Academic Board/Senate.
