Course Overview

Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) designed the Bachelor of Science in Electronic and Computer Engineering course offered in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering. The course is intended to produce engineers competent in the theory, design, installation and maintenance of electronic systems and components, computer software and computer hardware. These skills find application for example, in modern engineering and manufacturing systems, communication networks, process control, Telecommunications and Information Technology. This is indeed the first course of its kind available in the region at tertiary level

Minimum Entry Requirements

Bachelor of Science in Electronic and Computer Engineering at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) has the following requirements; KCSE Mean grade B- (minus) and mean grade for the total score in the four JAB cluster subjects of at lest B (plain) and the following minimum grades in the individual luster subjects: Mathematics C+, Physics C+, Chemistry C+, Geography or Biology, or group III or any group IV.

Course Objectives

Bachelor of Science in Electronic and Computer Engineering at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) has the following objectives; 1.To meet the electronic and computer engineering industry demands for suitably equipped and knowledgeable engineers in the field. 2.To build capacity for the training of manpower in the electronic and computer engineering field. 3.To enhance research and production, of new ideas and products, in the area of electronic and computer engineering.
